The popularity of the metaverse

Already, almost all major technology companies, one by one, declare that they are starting to develop their own metaverses, software, or hardware for them. Investors are analyzing what is worth investing in now, and what areas will have to wait. And even the latest major mergers and acquisitions have not bypassed this topic: the beginning of 2022 was marked by the purchase of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft, one of the largest and oldest developers of computer games. By the way, not only the usual functions like buying a house or choosing clothes will be available in the metaverse – but in the future it will also be possible to place bets and play in the casino. While this feature is in development, you can visit the sports betting site.

The key moment in the history of the metaverse as a full-fledged investment and business idea can be considered Mark Zuckerberg’s loud renaming of his Facebook company to Meta Platforms, which took place in October 2021. It was then that the general public became acquainted with the term “metaverse”. Meta’s online virtual reality game Horizon Worlds is now available to users in the US and Canada.
